Pierre Legras Coste Beert Brut Chouilly Grand Cru Champagne NV
Exclusively made from Chardonnay, Coste Beert is the definition of a great Blanc de Blancs. Just as this hillside dominates all the others of the village, the emblematic grape variety of this Champagne house reigns supreme over the village of Chouilly. A cuvee from a single grape variety, it is the purest expression of the house's Grand Cru -- mineral and complex, generous and clearly precise.
With aromas of bergamot, honeysuckle, citrus, silex, brioche and almound and a complex, mineral mouthfeel, Coste Beert has very fine bubbles, a pale golden colour with greennish tinges and elegant necklace. On the palate, first fresh, grapefruit, matured citrus, toasted notes. Good and persistense length. Finesse, elegance, freshness.
Pierre Legras, a contemporary of Louis XIV and Dom Pérignon, started one of the bigest winegrower families of Chouilly, which is today a Grand Cru village of the Côte des Blancs. This marked the beginning of a great line of winemakers that honored his heritage over nearly four hundred years and 11 generations. Now with 10 acres, including 7 classified Grand Crus in Chouilly, Vincent Legras signs his wines with a lot of precision.
