Château Thivin Beaujolais-Villages Rosé 2024
The Gamay in this tangy little rosé just offers so much life and energy. Delicate aromas of fresh fruits and slight acidity make this a harmonious, delicate wine for the summer. Zippy, cranberry and tart cherry fruit with a softer mouthfeel and a flash of bright acidity on the finish.
This rosé is for those who enjoy a wine that prickles instead of caresses, that tingles the tongue instead of coating it. It’s a wine meant to slake the thirst of both farmers and gentry. If your vibe is less poolside and more countryside, this is the bottle for you.
Only 2% of Beaujolais production is rosé. That makes the Thivin rosé one of the world’s rarest. The Geoffray family of Château Thivin (founded in 1877) lavish as much attention on this rosé as they do on their famous reds, sourcing it from 50-year-old, organically farmed vineyards on steep slopes of volcanic soil festooned with all manner of cover crops and organic treatments. It’s serious farming in the service of genuine refreshment.
The grapes are manually harvested early and vinified cold like a white wine in stainless steel vats to keep as much of the delicate scent of fresh fruit and the typical crunch of Gamay as possible.
