Colonnara Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico 2022

Colonnara has been producing this Verdicchio in Cupramontana, Marche, Italy since 1964. Vivacious straw yellow with crystalline greenish reflections, the wine leads with intense scents of fresh green apple, grapefruit and kiwi, elegant floral notes and hints of nuts and toasted almonds. On the palate, dry, quite warm, fresh and sapid, with discrete softness, a good balance and persistent final notes of green apple, pear, honeydew, honeysuckle and fresh, pleasantly bitter almond. A young, fresh wine, suitable for everyday family meals and shared moments with friends. Sunshine in a glass!

Colonnara is a co-op founded in 1959 with 100+ wine-grower members, each with tiny parcels they farm. The winery is located in Cupramontana, the capital of the DOC of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, designated in 1968, and is the gold standard for Verdicchio in the Marche region. Cupramontana takes its name from the goddess Cupra, the deity of fertility and love.
