Ripe, earthy black fruit aromas are balsamic and suggest boozy spice cake. Following the nose, this Malbec from a very good vintage is jammy in feel, with thorough ripeness. Prune, raisin, molasses and cassis flavors wrap up quickly. Light hints of orange peel, eucalyptus, white powdered sugar and red velvet cake dance around the core. The wine finishes with integrated earth components of soil, dry crushed leaves, and an animal quality that screams being alive.

100% Malbec from a single vineyard in Chacras de Coria planted in 1916 by French winemakers. Native yeast ferment for 20 days, aged in barrel two years before bottleing with an assitional one year aging before release. Finca Adalgisa is located in the Chacras de Coria sub region of Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. The estate goes back three generations within the Furlotti family when they planted 0.85 hectares of primarily Malbec.

Today, they care for the vineyard in an artisanal way – horses plow the soil, pruners tie branches with natural materials. From the high Andes mountains, their vines are watered with the highest quality of water. They produce only one wine, which is made by beloved winemaker Carmelo Patti. Carmelo focuses on balance and terroir and is one of the few Argentine vignerons to bottle-age before release. Adalgisa produces less than 500 cases per year, and it has been stated that their wine is one of the most elegant, Bordelaise expressions of Malbec that exists.
