Folk Machine Arroyo Seco Gamay Noir 2023

Peppery, crunchy, earthy and floral. This is a light to medium-bodied wine for those of us who like something a bit more subtle.

The vines for this Gamay Noir were planted/grafted with the Chesboro family at Cedar Lane in Arroyo Seco going on about 10 years ago now. There is a total of about four acres, some planted new and some grafted on old rootstock. Soils there are typical for the area, very sandy/alluvial and temps are generally moderate with wind. A lot like Carneros in the North. 

At the winery, 50% whole cluster in the fermenter, fermented till dry, then pressed to neutral 500L puncheons. Aged on the lees, then racked about a month before bottling. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
