Lots of berries on the nose, spicy, mature and mushed but still fresh and lively. Cherries, raspberries and lingonberries. Good depth, fruit-forward, a bit tannin with plenty of acidity. Earthy with Campari, red berries and spices. Overall the look is toward the darker spectrum, dusty and barely transparent. Touch of violets and milk chocolate. Crunchy minerality with lots of crushed rocks. Great balance. The fruit is mature and lush. Of course very young and will probably benefit from a year or two in the cellar.

"Les En Hauts" is a new project by Frédéric Cossard and Damien Coquelet. The Côte du Py comes from a 50 year old parcel planted over weathered granite soils in Morgon’s famed lieu-dit. Fermented as whole bunches for a fortnight before a short élevage in concrete eggs, it draws you in with the kind of gorgeous perfume we’ve become accustomed to from this site, pairing pristine fruit and hazy minerals to brilliant effect.
