Gebbia Frappato Terre Siciliane 2022

The 2022 Gebbia Frappato is a single-varietal wine made from 100% Frappato grapes, grown in Sicily. Light-bodied, fruity and floral, with aromas of black plum, blueberry and fig. Rich with flavor while still soft and vibrant, bursting with inky black plum, blueberry, fig and a dusting of lavender.

Frappato is one of the many extraordinary indigenous grapes from the island of Sicily. The vineyard is in Vittoria on the southern part of the Island. It is a young vineyard, only 10 years old, with sandy soils that help produce a light, refreshing red wine. Grapes are harvested by hand, cryomacerated for 24 hours to preserve freshness, followed by indigenous fermentation at 62°F for 10 days, then aged for eight months in concrete tanks. Unfined, unfiltered, certified organic.

Gebbia's focus is wines made from the indigenous grapes of Italy -- delicious, economical, well-packaged and certified organic. All the wines are produced as 100% pure varietals with minimal intervention in order to allow the characteristics of the grape to shine through. The sourcing for their grapes comes from family vineyards.
