The Marigny "It'll Do" Skin Contact Oregon White Wine 2021
A side project of The Marigny and St. Reginald Parish, this natural skin contact white wine from Oregon offers a unique and vibrant expression of Pinot Gris. A tasty orange blend of mostly Pinot Gris and some Chardonnay, in the glass this wine shines with an orange hue and offers exotic fruit flavors and a wild, natural profile. Aromatic and textural on the nose, with notes of apricot and orange peel. A vibrant, textural palate, featuring flavors of citrus, peach and ginger, along with a refreshing acidity and a subtle tannic grip.
The Marigny winemaker Andrew Reginald Young left behind a career as a New Orleans rock drummer in 2012 to make low-intervention wines from cooler climate vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. He works with a lot of carbonic maceration to keep the wines light, all fermented with native yeasts and minimal intervention in the winery.
