Veuve Amiot "Elisa" Cremant de Loire NV
This fresh & lovely Cremant consists of 50% Chenin Blanc and 50% Chardonnay. This blend, traditionally aged several months in French oak barrels then left to rest for a few years in our cellars, has a complexity and a unique finesse. Very fine bubbles bring aromas of white fruit, freshly-picked green-apple and brioche, buttressed by hints of caramel, toasted almond and Fuji apple. The palate combines young, tending-towards-mature green fruit with mineral, pear and apple notes and a confident finish. This is a crémant that excels.
The Maison Veuve Amiot, a renowned winery situated in Saumur at the heart of the Loire Valley, has a rich history that began in 1884. Elisa Amiot, the widow of Armand Amiot, made the bold decision to continue the wine business established by her husband, becoming a trailblazing woman of the wine industry. With her intelligence, dynamic spirit, and strong character, Elisa set out to create world-class wines from the Loire region and put them on the map. Her ambition paid off as her wines gained international recognition, cementing the reputation of Maison Veuve Amiot as one of the most prestigious wineries in the Loire Valley. Elisa Crémant de Loire reflects her personality: strong in character, ambitious and dynamic, with its fine and persistent bubbles and its fruity flavors.
