Azienda Agricola COS Frappato Terre Siciliane IGT 2024

COS Frappato is a light-bodied, vibrant red wine from Sicily, made with 100% Frappato grapes. Aromatic notes of vibrant black cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg, English garden herbs and black licorice with undertones of oceanic minerality. The palate is swift with red cherry, tapenade, raspberry, pine and brush notes. Drink with a slight chill.

COS was founded in 1980 by three friends and legends in winemaking, Giambattista Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti and Cirino Strano (the initials of their last names form the winery’s name), yet the winery itself dates to the 1880s. Sicily has a winemaking history dating to 8th Century BCE when Greeks first planted grapes there. 100% Frappato grown organically with biodynamic principles. Fermented and aged in concrete with indigenous yeast.
