Gramona "Aliances La Cuvee" Corpinnat Brut 2021

Pale yellow, steel edges. Medium intensity. Elegant floral notes wrapped in stone fruit – peach, apricot, golden apple, lemon peel, pineapple. Notes of bakery, nuts such as almonds and some balsamic such as fennel and bay leaf. Round entrance, medium enveloping body, crispy carbonic texture. Citrus aromas meld with the apple, the almond and lush bubbles. The mousse is fine and lively, with an ethereal, dry palate that lingers with gentle autolytic complexity. A true expression of Corpinnat with a refreshing, refined long finish.

Aliances La Cuvee was produced with a blend of 63% Xarel-lo, 32% Macabeo and 5% Parellada from Corpinnat, Penedès, all farmed biodynamically, harvested by hand and aged for 24-34 months on the lees in the stillness and silence of Gramona's cavas. The name "Aliances" pays a small tribute to the members of the Aliances per la Terra collective. Launched by Gramona in 2015, this is a group of winemaking families who work their land biodynamically in the Penedès. Currently, all these growers are certified organic, and 13 are certified biodynamic.
