Montrubí Black 2022
This is a red wine with an intense purple-red color and marked notes of fruit. On the nose, wild fruits and plum from Murcia stand out, accentuated by a floral note of violet. Silky on the palate, with a fresh and persistent finish with hints of blackberries.
100% Grenache, 70% maceration with skins, 30% carbonic maceration. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Contact with its fine lees for three weeks. Biodynamic, certified organic, vegan.
The Montrubí estate, which is located in the Penedès region of Catalonia, was founded in 1984 by the Peris family. Their vision was to craft unique terroir wines using local grape varieties such as Xarel-lo, Sumoll and Garnacha while subscribing to an organic winemaking philosophy. The bodega and vineyards are situated in an area over 2,000 feet above sea level just 60 kilometres west of Barcelona. MontRubí was named in honour of the 19th century property in L’Avellà town that the Peris family refurbished to house the winery. The philosophy at MontRubí is one of traditional viticulture; sustainable and environmentally friendly, albeit with a simultaneous commitment to innovation.
