Morra Roero Arneis DOCG 2023
Intense straw colored with greenish glints. The nose offers fresh notes of lemon, pineapple, crushed apple, citrus and herbs, with floral hints. Good grip on the palate, creamy notes, yellow apple, some herbal notes and rather long finish. Dry, harmonious, with good body and great flavor.
In traditional local culture, the name Arneis is given to someone who is an extrovert, a bit of a rebel, original but with a certain charm. This fine white wine from the Roero hills shows all the excellent qualities of its name. The sandy terroir provides this wine with a full intense aroma, and the limestone and clay give it strong body and structure.
Arneis has been the typical white grape of Roero for centuries. According to history, the original Arneis variety was first grown on a hill just a few kilometers from Castellinaldo. The grape likes the sandy, loose soil that characterizes the local terrain of Roero. The area has been DOC certified since the early 1980s and has now recently been recognized as a DOCG.
