domaine-de-terrebrune-bandol-rose-2025
Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rosé 2025

Provence summer in a glass! This is the benchmark Bandol rose, one of the finest rosés in the world, built on Mourvedre and meant to be taken seriously. The color is pale salmon with copper reflections. The nose opens with thyme, white peach, honeysuckle and wet roses, with notes of crushed strawberry and licorice. The dense, pulpy palate offers a precise, seamless core of fresh fruit framed by mineral acidity, savory spices and herbaceous botanical character. The mouthwatering finish is long, saline and refined. Its saline contours and vinous texture metamorphose into a fine wine after a decade ageing. A Bandol jewel.

This is a Mourvedre-led rosé (60%) rounded out with Grenache (20%) and Cinsault (20%), grown on clay and limestone soils dating back to the Triassic period. The vineyard enjoys a unique influence from the Mediterranean, sitting at an altitude between 150 and 350 metres with great differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Here, at the heart of this 35-hectare vineyard, a philosophy of respect and harmony with nature is implemented daily. Naturally, the vines are organically cultivated in full accordance with certified methods. Picking, sorting and harvestingare done manually.

Where most Bandol rosés are aged in stainless steel and released young, Terrebrune ages its rosé for 18 months in large oak foudres—a method borrowed from white Burgundy and the finest Bandol rouge production—which integrates and develops the Mourvèdre's most complex secondary aromatic compounds. After bottling, the wine continues to evolve. When Kermit Lynch recommends cellaring it for 5-20 years, it's not simply marketing but the genuinely earned claim of a producer whose older vintages have proven it true.

Acquired in 1968 by Georges Delille, Domaine de Terrebrune sits in Ollioules, an isolated village near Toulon, just east of Bandol, where the Delille family farms organically on the rich brown soils that gave the estate its name. Georges passed away in 2021, and the estate is now in the hands of his son Reynald, who is never shy to point out the aging potential of this rosé, often pulling out twenty-year-old bottles in pristine condition to prove his point. Kermit Lynch's own team describes him, as "a rosé master," whose bottlings arecelebrated for their complexity andage-worthiness. In its youth, its brightness makes it a great companion to seafood in its most basic form. With age, it picks up weight and develops deeper aromatics, allowing it to stand up to richer and more complex dishes. The newly arrived 2025 is textured and invigorating, and whether uncorked young or old, Terrebrune’s rosé is certain to convey all the class of its distinctive Provençal terroir.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0898/2931/0781/files/Domaine-de-Terrebrune-Bandol-Rose-2025.jpg?v=1787186211
