The nose opens with aromas of fresh cherry, peony and a hint of pepper. On the palate, the texture is silky yet precise, with a beautiful tension that highlights the fruit. The discreet oak aging allows the terroir to speak for itself: it is straightforward, juicy, and unadornedly pure. An already expressive red, bursting with vitality, that combines elegance, balance and authenticity.

This is somewhat of a "super" Bourgogne Rouge. 2024 was a challenging vintage for all of those across Burgundy. With devastating mildew in the vineyards, she made a bold, uncompromising decision: 70% of the grapes were left unharvested. No shortcuts. No concessions on quality. So, facing a lighter than usual harvest, Fanny sought to make the best of the situation and made the tough decision to blend her parcels from all of her holdings from Pommard, Volnay and the Beaune Clos des Renardes into her Bourgogne Rouge.

100% whole bunch used across all parcels, with restraint impact of oak. The added complexity coming from the myriad of appellations assembled here: a wine that certainly overdelivers on a "mere" Bourgogne Rouge. Only about 900 bottles produced, from what would have normally been 9,000+ bottles.

Fanny Sabre entered the world of wine after the unexpected passing of her father when she was just 23 years old. She left her law school education to return home and take over the family estate in Pommard. When she began her winemaking journey in 2005, Fanny was under the tutelage of Philippe Pacalet, the nephew of the legendary Marcel Lapierre. Pacalet, widely regarded as one of Burgundy's leading advocates for organic winemaking, was instrumental in pioneering natural wine practices in the region. His influence on Fanny's path, and the gravitas of her wines, cannot be understated.

When Fanny assumed full winemaking responsibilities of the family's production, she deepened her commitment to organic methods and is now recognized as a leader of organic farming in Pommard. Over the past almost 20 years, Fanny has continued to farm organically, gaining certification in 2018. The wines here are made on a small scale, Fanny’s seven hectares of vines are monitored closely and there is immense attention to detail when it comes to work in the cellar. Production remains extremely limited, with most cuvées yielding just 800-1000 bottles, most of which are only enjoyed within France.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0898/2931/0781/files/Fanny-Sabre-Cuvee-XXIV-Bourgogne-Rouge-2024.jpg?v=1775950400
