Amaltea De Loxarel Brut Nature Cava Reserva NV

Named for Amaltea, Zeus's foster goat mother who suckled life back into the young god. This biodynamic Cava is just as fun as the label suggests. Loxarel is the brand name for the wines made by Masia Can Mayol, a small-medium sized organic winery located an hour south west of Barcelona just outside Vilafranca del Penedes in the Penedes region. It's run with great enthusiasm and flair by Josep Mitjans & his wife Teresa. For more than four generations, the most important thing for the Mitjans family has been the care of their vineyards with the aim of achieving the best quality for their wines and sparkling wines.

Made from 60% Xarel-lo 30% Macabeu 10% Parellada grapes; light bodied and dry, mineral driven and easy drinking, with citrus, crisp apple, medium plus acid, and a soft mousse. Organic, clean and fresh!
