Ca Modeano "Àjar" Prosecco DOC 2024
The Modeano "Àjar" Prosecco DOC is an Extra Dry sparkling wine produced in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy. The wine takes its name from the Friulian word àjar, meaning "air" or "wind," which evokes freshness of aromas and harmony of sounds.
Pale straw yellow, it has fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it is floral and delicately aromatic, with varietal notes. The palate is fresh, soft and persistent. A sparkling wine rich in nuances, suitable for any occasion.
The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The must is cooled and decanted. Once clear, it is racked and fermented with selected yeasts. Secondary fermentation is done according to the Martinotti-Charmat method. While many Proseccos are non-vintage to maintain a consistent house style, specific vintages like 2024 may be noted by retailers. Prosecco is generally best enjoyed young and fresh, within 2-3 years of production.
Modeano is a small agricultural village on the western edge of the Riviera Friulana, situated halfway between Venice and Trieste, where they have been cultivating vines since 1982. In 2023, a new chapter began when Luca and Andrea Cisorio embarked on the exciting journey of managing the historic winery. They are dedicated to preserving the wisdom of the past while forging a path toward the future.
