Folicello "Il Bianco" Bianco Pét-Nat 2023
Folicello "Il Bianco" Pét-Nat is a fresh, sweet-smelling, sapid and harmonic sparkling white natural wine characterized by a delightful floral scent, a blend of Montuni (50%), Pinot Blanc (25%), and Trebbiano (25%) grown organically. It's made with the Metodo Ancestrale technique, which involves spontaneous fermentation with native yeast and secondary bottle fermentation, by winemaker Antonella Fontana. The bubbles are tight and crispy, tastes sour beer-like, in a good way. Also described as, "Like skipping through a field of delicate flowers on a salty-apricot, cloudy day... naked."
Folicello is a certified organic farm which relies entirely on the natural quality of its products and a true passion for the environment. The brainchild of Antonella and Marco, who started the winery in the 80s, the estate is located in Castelfranco Emilia, near Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region. They combine the traditional methods and innovative techniques in order to obtain high quality products without using chemical substances. To them, organic means a way to work, to observe, to live the land. A philosophy of life in order to appreciate the harmony of a cultivated field, the cycle of seasons and the flow of time.
Antonella and Marco have lived in the countryside for a great part of their life, learning to appreciate its value and discovering the potential it offers, above all in the quality of life. Their lifestyle is due to their desire of discovering and sharing the value of biological farming and wine production at a high level of quality. In recent years, their daughters have joined them in the fantastic adventure, proud to carry on the family tradition.
