Mari Vineyards "Simplicissimus" Riesling Brut Nature 2019

Riesling from Michigan? Say what?!? The 2022 vintage is clean and crisp with refreshing fruitiness. Lemon curd, pineapple and Macintosh apple notes add a ripeness to this otherwise bone dry party in a glass. 

The wine was made in the Méthode Ancestrale in a very hands-off style, capturing ripe fruit flavor in a dry wine. Aged sur lee in the tank for six months and in the bottle for another seventeen. A difficult way of saying something simple, "Simplicissimus" is inspired by German satire and literature.
