Oda Family "The Glass Wall" 2023

Traditional natural wine from the Republic of Georgia, which many consider to be the birthplace of wine. “The Glass Wall” is a dry rosé made from the indigenous Georgian Ojaleshi & Tsolikouri grapes, with aromas of wild forest berries and an ABV of 11.5%. Direct press, the Tsolikouri is fermented five months in Qvevri, while the Ojaleshi is fermented four months in stainless steel, then the two are blended and aged four months in stainless steel.

Oda Family Marani (winery) was founded in 2015 in a century-old ancestral Oda house in the small town of Martvili in Western Georgia. Oda was one of the first post-Soviet, new-wave wineries, revitalizing forgotten winemaking traditions in the Samegrelo Region.

Keto Ninidze is a journalist and wine writer in addition to being the founder and winemaker for Oda Family Marani. Keto began writing about wine in 2015, as the supervisor of the Wine Information Center, and decided to develop her own experimental project, growing a limited quantity of the local grape variety Ojaleshi. The popularity of her wine pursuaded Keto to pursue winemaking seriously, and she began studies at Georgia's Wine School, with practical experience in Germany at one of Rheinhessen's organic wineries, and in Bavaria's Vineyard Research Center.

Oda Family Marani consistently pursues a path of renewable and organic agriculture. They pay great attention to the economization of resources, sustainable soil treatment and preservation of the local ecosystems and biodiversity. In 2016-2018, with the help of the vine nursery in Jighaura, they planted a small vineyard on Oda's home plot, which is a collection of old Megrelian and Abkhazian endemic grape varieties: Chvitiluri, Koloshi, Dudghushi, Lakvazhi, and Ashugazhi.
