Brij Wines SLO Coast Pinot Noir 2025
Pale ruby with a translucent, garnet edge. The nose opens with a precise and perfumed tension — sour cherry and dried rose petal threaded through with cardamom and a whisper of sandalwood, all lifted by the cool coastal air that defines this stretch of California's central coast. The palate is fine and restrained, delivering on the aromatic promise without ever overreaching. Texture is the wine's great strength: silky and soft, with a faint, almost talc-like grip that gives shape without weight.
The grapes were sourced from the Marfarm Vineyard located in Edna Valley. Farmed using organic methods in clay, loam soils. Fermented using all native yeasts and 100% whole cluster in tank. Aged for nine months in neutral, French barriques. Bottled by hand with no fining or filtering.
Brij Wines is a project of Rajat Parr, one of the most accomplished and celebrated wine professionals in the industry. Raj grew up in Calcutta, India where he found his love of hospitality working within family restaurants in New Delhi. It wasn’t until age twenty that Raj experienced his first taste of wine in London with his uncle in 1993, and from that point forward he found a calling that would lead him on an odyssey to the coastal enclave that today is called Phelan Farm.
Raj makes estate-grown wine under the Phelan Farm label, while Brij Wines is the label he uses for wine made from grapes purchased from other organically-farmed vineyards. Raj also makes wine under the Scythian Wines label.
