Buchegger Ried Tiefenthal Kremstal Riesling 2022

Buchegger Riesling Ried Tiefenthal 2022 is a precise and elegant expression of Kremstal terroir, crafted by the esteemed Buchegger estate in Austria. Sourced from the Tiefenthal single vineyard, this dry Riesling showcases crystalline minerality, vibrant acidity and a purity of fruit that reflects its origin in loess and weathered rock soils. Light chartreuse yellow in the glass with silver reflections. Aromas of delicate white orchard peaches, lime zest, guava, wet stone, floral nuances and hints of meadow herbs. The palate is Juicy, elegant, tightly meshed, crisp and linear with focused citrus, stone fruit and salty minerality. The finish is long and clean with racy acidity and a refined texture.

Ried Tiefenthal is a celebrated single vineyard located in the Kremstal DAC wine region of Austria, known for producing stellar, mineral-driven dry Riesling. The soil is rich in loess and weathered rock, offering excellent water retention and nutrient balance.

Weingut Buchegger is a historic family-owned wine estate in the Kremstal region of Austria, celebrated for its elegant, mineral-driven Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines.  Established in 1893, the estate was long run by the Buchegger family before Walter Buchegger took over in 1994. Following Walter's passing in 2018, his wife Silke Mayr took over management alongside cellarmaster Michael Nastl. The winery is certified sustainable under Austria's strict KIP standards, avoiding all synthetic herbicides and insecticides for over two decades. The grapes are harvested by hand, and native yeast spontaneous fermentation is practiced for their single-vineyard wines, aligning with their minimal-intervention, sustainable approach.
