Nanclares y Prieto "Dandelion" Albariño Rias Baixas 2025

Bright and lively, Dandelion opens with aromas of fresh lime, lemon zest, white peach and delicate white flowers. The palate is crisp and refreshing, balancing juicy citrus and ripe stone fruit with hints of honeydew melon, subtle almond and a distinctly saline, ocean-kissed minerality. Chalky texture and vibrant acidity carry through to a long, mouthwatering finish, capturing the freshness of Galicia’s Atlantic coast in every sip.

Made from 100% Albariño, Dandelion draws on a collection of organically farmed vineyard parcels across the Val do Salnés and surrounding areas of Rías Baixas. The 25- to 45-year-old vines grow in sandy, decomposed granite soils, with traditional pergola training that encourages airflow and sunlight in Galicia’s damp maritime climate. The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted and gently pressed as whole bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with native yeasts, followed by around six months of lees aging in a combination of vessels to build texture and complexity while preserving the wine’s vibrant fruit and mineral character. The winemaking is deliberately low-intervention, allowing the grapes and their Atlantic-influenced terroir to speak for themselves.

Alberto Nanclares and Silvia Prieto founded Nanclares y Prieto with a shared passion for expressing the distinctive character of Albariño and its Galician home. After Alberto transitioned from a career in economics to winemaking, he began working with the region’s vineyards using organic and biodynamic principles, a particularly demanding commitment in Galicia’s challenging maritime climate. Together, Alberto and Silvia have built a small, thoughtful estate focused on sustainable farming, native yeasts and minimal intervention in the cellar. Dandelion is a beautiful expression of their philosophy: precise, vibrant and unmistakably shaped by the sea.
