Populis Macerated White 2025

This vibrant orange wine is a blend of several white grape varieties sourced from historic vineyards in Mendocino County, California, and produced by Les Lunes Wine. All the different varieties give this wine layer upon layer of flavor while still being super fresh and drinkable. The maceration periods range from five days to two weeks, resulting in a vibrant wine with layers of orchard fruit flavors like apple and pear, dried apricot, citrus rind, honey suckle and quince and a floral note from the Orange Muscat. Juicy and fresh, with light body and low ABV. The direct-press components accentuate the juicy mouthfeel, create a noticeable tannic structure, and provide a fresh finish.

45% Chardonnay, 15% Grenache Blanc,  10% Tocai Friulano, 7% Orange Muscat, 7% Picpoul, 7% Vermentino, 5% Ribolla Gialla, 2% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Colombard.

Shaunt Oungoulian and Diego Roig produce wine under two labels, Populis and Les Lunes Wine. With Populis, they purchase grapes from historic vineyards and multi-generational growers from Mendocino County. These wines are fresh, lively, fruit forward, and made in a playful style. In addition to making wine, they farm and manage over eight hectares of vineyards in Sonoma and Napa and are committed 100% to organic farming and restoring and preserving older and historic vineyards in those counties. The winemaking is very low intervention.
