Laurent Lebled À la Vôtre! "La Sauvignonne" 2024
Distinctive orange-yellow color and cloudiness in the glass. The nose is light with hints of florals, yeast and smoke. The palate is complex, bright, citric and acidic with a little funk and earthy yeast. Notes of peach, apricot, orange citrus, grapefruit, green apple, earthy herb spice and pine tree. The back end is all castelvetrano olive brine. Lovely! Perfect for cutting through spicy, flavorful dishes.
From 50-70 year old Sauvignon Blanc grapes organically grown in the Touraine region of the Loire Valley, but is intentionally declassified as a Vin du France. Whole cluster grapes are given a 10 day carbonic maceration in stainless steel for additional freshness. They're then pressed and racked to fiberglass for aging. No SO2 added.
The À la Vôtre! label is run by Laurent Lebled, who makes natural wine in the Centre-Val de Loire region in France. Laurent Lebled’s path to winemaking is a bit untraditional. He spent 30 years as a wood merchant in the Loire Valley before finding himself jobless after the 2008 crash. Despite his late in life start, his wines are funky, cool and young. His daughter Barbara Lebled works his fields with him and produces wine under her own label.
