Tinto Amorio "Bheeyo" 2024

Skin-contact orange wine fermented with feverish intentions. This vino has vitality and is designed for the free-spirited. Serve chilled.

With 95% Gewurztraminer and 5% Zinfandel, this is a very floral wine, tons of jasmine up front which leads to notes of black tea and peach fruit. The black tea, besides adding flavor, serves as tannins, which are fairly light, for the wine. Vibrant grapefruit brings a little more fruit out on the finish.

The organically farmed Gewurztraminer underwent 22 days of skin-contact before being blended with the Zinfandel for co-fermentation in stainless steel. The wine was then aged sur lie in a mix of new French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks for 3.5 months before being racked off lees to tank and bottled.

Founder Anish Patel endured a near-fatal car accident and decided to rethink his career path. While Patel at one point considered becoming a monk, half a year of introspection helped pushed him to take his talents to California, translating the learnings from his previous career into building a natural wine label in California. Seems like that was a good choice, because now the brand’s wines are a huge hit.
