Il Poggione Toscana Rosso 2023

The nose leads with earthy, umami aromas of balsamic, spice and fresh soil, but fruit notes of cherry, plum, oranges and blackberry gradually emerge. The palate runs with the fruit, but that fresh, almost stony earthiness persists to create a cool, bouncy feeling, like a sudden gust of wind. Medium to full body with rich layers of toasty, chocolatey fruit. Acid acts as a whetstone for sharp tannins. 

The blend is 40% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Sangiovese gives the wine its zing and its brilliant fruit notes. The Merlot gives it a smooth texture, rich color, and the Cabernet Sauvignon gives depth of flavor. The combination of these varietals helps create a soft, fruit-forward and fragrant wine.
