The 2022 Jérôme Galeyrand Marsannay Rouge "Est-Ouest" is characterized by a dark garnet red color and powerful, spicy aromas of ripe cherries, wild raspberries, subtle bacon notes and a hint of lilac and orange blossom water. Flavors of deep dark fruit and a fine spiciness glide almost weightlessly over the palate, wrapped around elegant, tightly-woven, powdery tannins to give the wine an almost sweet note on the tip of the tongue. A wide-ranging acidity curve supports the supple tannis to create a joyful, medium-bodied pinot noir. Nice chalky minerality in the long, clean finish. Drink or hold.
