The Les Lunes Black Vineyard Merlot is a ripe, fruity and smooth red wine, praised for notes of plum, coffee, cedar, red currant and spice. Dark and deep, the palate marries bright, brambly black fruit with notes of dark fruit, subtle oak and fresh acid, offering a supple texture with full body.

This is 100% organically farmed Merlot from Black Vineyard in Napa Valley's Coombsville AVA, a site that Les Lunes has been farming since 2017. The winemakers love this region for its ability to produce ripe flavors at lower alcohol levels, and this wine showcases Napa's classic dense and powerful style, but made with great restraint. Aged in neutral French Oak barrels for 24 months and another 12 months in bottle before release, this wine will remind you of the great wines of the late 1970s that put California on the map.

The owners of Les Lunes Wine lease their own vineyards, work their own vines and built their own cellar. They're blazing their own trail like the pioneering winemakers of California. Their goal is to grow and make wines that pay respect to the great wines of California’s past.

They do very little in the cellar, because they spend time in the vineyards. Proper pruning, precise suckering, well-timed treatments and thoughtful weed management lets them minimize pesticide use, which allows them to preserve the indigenous microbes on the grapes and in the soils, which leads to healthier and more complex wines that don’t need adjusting or stabilizing.
