Montesco "Piefranc" Cabernet Franc 2020

Marked by a seductive sweetness that's very consistent with a warm year like 2020, but also from a selection of deep soils that are not as rocky and calcareous as those that produce other wines from that vineyard in San Pablo (such as Passionate’s other franc, Manolo). After a while, the variety's herbal notes appear in the glass, but it's the succulent ripe black fruit that dominates here.

The grapes for this wine are grown at 1,500 meters of elevation in a young vineyard in San Pablo, Tunuyan, Valle de Uco. The vines are ungrafted, planted directly in the alluvial and calcareous soils, and the resulting wine is full of energy and finesse. It is made in concrete vats from native yeasts and ages about eight months before being bottled.
