Domaine Coussin La Croix du Prieur Provence Rosé 2023
La Croix de Prieur is Château Coussin's second wine, produced in the heart of the Trets terroir. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault and 10% Syrah from Sainte-Victoire, Côtes de Provence, the light pink hue of Domaine Coussin's wine is so pale it's almost white, with coral highlights. Delicate aromas of stone fruits like apricot and peach waft from the glass, underscored by subtle hints of clementine and orange peel that linger pleasantly on the finish. Refreshing, light-bodied and dry with notes of peach, apricot, clementine, orange peel and stony minerals. Medium-plus acidity and a lean finish.
The vineyard and estate take their name from Jean Baptiste Coussin, the 18th-century landowner whose property this once was. The plot previously belonged to the monks of the Abbey of Saint Victor in Marseille in the Middle Ages. Since 1903, the Sumeire family has lovingly tended these vines in the Côtes de Provence AOP region, carrying on the legacy of Coussin (formerly known as La Croix du Prieur).
