Domaine De L'R "Une Fille de L'Air" Rosé 2024
"A Daughter of the Air" cuvée from Domaine de L'R is a rosé of Cabernet Franc that presents a beautiful, intense pink rose and reveals a fruity bouquet. On the palate, it reveals a fruity flavor driven by a lovely acidity. It is perfect to serve as an aperitif, with charcuterie or a spicy dish.
In the heart of the Chinon appellation and around ten kilometers east of Chinon, the Domaine de L'R extends over nearly eight hectares in an immense gravel plain on the right bank of the Vienne.
After having started his career in the Iberian Peninsula, Frédéric Sigonneau returned to his Touraine lands in 2004. In 2007, he created the Domaine de l'R in Cravant les Coteaux, on the family's previous site. He immediately opted for organic farming, particularly for his Cabernet Franc, eliminating herbicides and insecticides. The growth of his vineyard is ensured by treatment with copper and sulfur.
The vines have an average age of around sixty years, consisting mainly of Cabernet Franc, the emblematic red grape variety of the Loire, and since 2015 of Chenin. Always in harmony with the natural elements of the soil, water, and air, the estate ensures organic viticulture by working the soil and protecting the vines from mildew and powdery mildew. The harvest is all done by hand, and the grapes are carefully transported in crates.
In the cellar, the raw cement vats are filled by gravity and the pumping over is short. Fermentation is done exclusively. by indigenous yeasts. The work from the vineyard to bottling, including aging, remains as natural as possible. Today, the estate is a fine example of Chinon, with wines revealing a keen sense of fruit, depth, and complexity.
Domaine de l'R wines are certified in Organic Agriculture Ecocert in AOP Chinon de Loire and Vin de France.
