Alta Marfa "No Hope" Merlot 2022

100% Merlot from Robert Clay Vineyard, Texas Hill Country AVA, Mason County. Notes of strawberry jalapeño, the underside of a stone and wet cave.

Hand harvested. Destemmed,10% whole cluster. Fermented in polyethylene egg. Aged in neutral oak, puncheon. Completed malolactic fermentation. Aged 17 months. Added 33ppm total SO2. 78 cases produced.

Alta Marfa is a small winery in Marfa, Texas, making unique wines with grapes grown by wonderful farmers in Texas and New Mexico, as well as the winery's own grapes grown in the Texas Davis Mountains AVA.
