Azelia Punta Barbera d'Alba DOC 2021

Lush and inviting, this Barbera features plum, black prunes, blackberry, black cherry and warm spice aromas and flavors. There's a macerated element to the fruit, and this lingers with an aftertaste of fruitcake and spices. Medium to full bodied, very elegant fine grain tannins and a really biting, vibrant finale.

The age of the vines of the Punta vineyard, over 60 years, characterizes the harmony of this wine. 100% Barbera from 0.9 ha of 60-year-old vines in Castiglione Falletto. Calcareous clay soils at 250 meters above sea level. The vineyard is located exactly at the top of a hill – a very unusual position for Barbera – which allows for optimal ripening of the grapes. Aged 18 months in second passage barriques. 500 cases are produced annually, 170 cases imported.
