Cambridge Road "Down the Rabbit Hole" Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Deeply golden with tints of orange, very bright with scents of white pepper and pyrazines from herbs and kitchen spices. There’s a golden apple and preserved lemon frame with a leesy layer reminiscent of ginger and fermented flowers. Dry on the palate with myriad flavours from peach to grapefruit pith and lemon verbena tropical quench. Hallmark acidity keeps the entire wine upright and full of energy. A well-made wine, individual, sound and ready to drink. A full-flavored wine that lingers on the palate.
Some things just really work, this is one of those things. Organically farmed Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc, grown by good friends, picked by hand and fermented wild with full skin contact for a few weeks. The resulting wine is the full-bodied truth of whole fruit, the skins, the flesh, the juice and seed.
