Casa Mariol's Samsó is a deep ruby color with mahogany hues. The intense aroma offers a full bouquet of florals with violets in the lead, followed by light, fruity, prunes and toasty, cocoa notes. The smooth palate is very creamy and fresh, with spice and vanilla notes and a light, spicy, exotic touch at the end. Excellent integration of the cask. Elegant and balanced.

100% Samsó (aka Carignan, also known as Cariñena). Variety is highly present and typical in Terra Alta. Traditional production, aged 16 months in American oak.

Casa Mariol is a family winery in Terra Alta that has been producing wine for three generations. Established in 1945 by Josep Maria Bes and Josefina Aguiló, their children Josep Vaquer, and Emília Llop took over in 1971. Today the third and current generation, Josep Maria, Miquel Àngel and Marta Vaquer, manage the winery. The winery is located in Batea, Terra Alta, a small region in the south of Catalonia. At Casa Mariol, they produce single-varietal wines and vermouths from their 50 hectares of vineyards, as well as other local small farmers. Their focus is on sustainability and organic and vegan farming and winemaking. Each varietal bottling has a different color on the label art with a distinct design by German art director Mirko Borsche.
