Descendientes de Charles Martinez 2021
Deep cherry red with a bright violet rim. Fresh aromas of ripe raspberries and plums, a hint of vanilla and very fine toasted notes, accompanied by a light spicy aroma. On the palate, honeyed, almost creamy tannins thanks to the American oak, fresh acidity and a concentrated structure. Lots of red and black fruit, medium-bodied and with a sublime balance.
A blend of 40% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Shiraz. All grapes were picked and sorted by hand from the Dominio de las Abejas certified organic family estate. Selected grapes were then crushed and pressed into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Once fermentation was complete the wine was aged for 12 months in a mixture of mainly 3rd and 4th use barrels of American oak and a small proportion of 1st use American oak. Each grape variety went through this process separately and the final blend was made in the end just before bottling. Aging 12 months in mainly second use and neutral oak barrels. 1400 cases produced.
