This wine represents a Pacific Northwest take on early release Gamay wines. Complex and toasty, it has ripe, juicy red cherry, raspberry and red currant tones alongside just enough herbal garrigue and savory black pepper qualities to satisfy the boldest of Gamay lovers. Silky and structured with hints of vanilla and bourbon. Fruit, juice, spice and everything nice. Serve slightly chilled, around 55 F.

As a grape varietal, Gamay tends to produce wines that are more black-fruited, fuller bodied and easier to consume in its youth than its cousin, Pinot Noir. It's simply the most delicious, delightful, versatile grape. Gamay originally hails from the Beaujolais region of France and also flourishes in the Loire Valley. It has witnessed rapid popularization in growth in the US in recent years. This perrenial favorite bottling features Gamay from both Washington and Oregon, and is produced like a traditional Beaujolais-Villages wine, using carbonic and semi-carbonic maceration as the layering components.

Division Winemaking Co. is a winery established in 2011 by co-owners Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe and based in the heart of southeast Portland. Their wines come from responsibly farmed, terroir expressive vineyards in Oregon and Washington, and eschew traditional wine barriers. They produce approachable and balanced wines through minimal intervention, employing an ethos rooted in French winemaking.
