Domaine Jean-Marie Reverdy "Terres Blanches" Sancerre 2023
This fabulous single-vineyard Sancerre owes its deliciousness to the great clay & limestone slopes, called “Terre Blanches” by the locals, which deliver complex, structured and round wines. Aged on its fine lees for five months in order to develop its full potential, this shows a beautiful pale-yellow color with golden tints.
On the nose, aromas of fresh white fruits, dried mango and floral notes melt into a soft, fuller-bodied yet energetic palate with a smooth & supple mouthfeel. Freshness and richness perfectly combine to give this wine good balance and lovely aromatic persistence.
The vineyard has been organic since the 1970s. Cold fermentation with native yeast in stainless steel tanks, no oak, no malolactic fermentation.
This Domaine is located in Verdigny, one of the top villages in Sancerre. It dates back to 1650 and has been in the family for about 10 generations. The Kimmeridgian marl terroir called “Terres Blanches” produces complex, full-bodied, rich wines. This Sancerre comes from three plots of around 30 years old, located on a hillside and benefiting from Southeast exposure. Maturation is gradual and regular.
