Folk Machine Redwood Valley Valdiguié 2022

Fascinating, peppery and unique! A tart and crunchy profile that balances well with the robust black and purple fruit. Sourced from an over 100 year-old historic vineyard in the Redwood Valley, this is a tasty wine in its own right, and a fun exploration of a California heritage grape. 

Folk Machine has been crushing Valdiguié for a long time, intrigued by the variety and its uncertain California history, but mainly using it in red blends. By 2009, they figured out the grape and the vineyard and a style that we liked for the two, and started bottling Valdiguié as a single varietal.

The label was created by the winemaker's long-time design accomplice, Landon Dowlen. Each year features a new camera on the label, and they are all from the designer's collection of working and not working cvintage ameras.
