La Soeur Cadette Bourgogne Blanc 2025
La Sœur Cadette Bourgogne Blanc shines with a bright lemon hue and inviting aromas of lemon curd, green and yellow apple and delicate white blossoms. The palate is creamy yet lively, with a medium-bodied texture balanced by citrus zest, chalky minerality and a subtle stony spice. Fresh acidity carries through to a crisp, elegant finish, making this an effortlessly versatile white Burgundy that pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, fish crudo or simply an evening at the table.
Made from 98% Chardonnay and 2% Chardonnay Muscaté, this wine draws on roughly 45-year-old vines rooted in limestone-rich clay soils in the northern Mâconnais, near Uchizy and Péronne. The grapes are farmed organically and hand-harvested before undergoing spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel. The wine ages on its lees for about seven months, developing a gentle creaminess while preserving its freshness and mineral character. Bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur and no chaptalization, it reflects a thoughtful, low-intervention approach.
La Sœur Cadette is the négociant project of Valentin Montanet, who also manages his family’s Domaine de la Cadette in Vézelay, northern Burgundy. Founded by his parents Jean and Catherine in 1987, the estate has become known for its organic farming and expressive, terroir-driven wines. Valentin launched La Sœur Cadette to work with organic grapes from across Burgundy and neighboring regions, bringing characterful wines from less celebrated corners of the region to a wider audience. His approach combines respect for tradition with minimal intervention, delivering honest, finely balanced Burgundy with remarkable value.
