Lo-Fi Chenin Blanc Jurassic Park Vineyard 2023

Coming from the Jurassic Park Vineyard in Los Olivios, Santa Barbara County, this is a classic, mouth-watering Chenin Blanc. Bright minerality up front leads to fresh white peaches and vibrant orange zest flavors. Subtle tropical fruit adds some weight and depth to the wine, more minerality on the finish leaves the palate wanting more.

100% Chenin Blanc, sustainably grown and hand-harvested. Whole cluster pressed to tank. Settled 24 hours prior to racking to barrel. Fermented on the native yeasts, followed by full malolactic by naturally occurring bacteria. No sulfur used at pressing. Aged 10 months in neutral French oak barrels. The wine was racked once prior to bottling. Total of 25 ppm SO2 added without filtration in keeping with Lo-Fi's minimalist (lo-fi) philosophy.

Jurassic Park Vineyard was planted by the Firestone family in 1982. The soil series Arnold Sand, consists of well-drained sands over soft sandstone. The vineyard is at an elevation of 1000 ft, with a slight west north-west row orientation.

Lo-Fi is a partnership between two lifelong friends who believe in hand crafted honest wines that are made for everyday drinking. Wines to be enjoyed, not to be collected. Easy-drinking lower alcohol wines made to pair well with all types of foods, from pizza to paté. They believe in neutral barrels, native yeasts, little to no sulfur additions, and no adjustment of pH. They embrace the "nothing added, nothing taken away" philosophy that gives birth to wines that are young, vibrant and alive. But in all reality, Lo-Fi is less about what it is and more about what it is not. It is not over-manipulated. It is not over-extracted. It is not over-ripe and it is not over-priced.
