Moshin Vineyards Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2020
Aromas of cranberry and ripe pit fruits with a hint of cola and baking spice. Black cherry, rhubarb, sassafras, rose petal, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla dance on the palate. Soft, with a good amount of acidity and a long finish.
This Pinot Noir is sourced from Moshin's 20 acres of estate vineyards located in the Middle Reach neighborhood of the Russian River Valley. The clonal selections (Calera, Swan, Wädenswil, Pommard, Martini, Dijon 115 and 777) are winemaker tended and sustainably farmed. Having many familiar characteristics of a Pinot Noir from the Russian River, it also speaks to those who long for a true Burgundy.
Since 1989, Rick Moshin has been producing natural, terroir-driven wines in the Russian River Valley, sustainably farming the Estate Pinot Noir vineyards that thrive on sunny Goldridge soil slopes and turning those grapes into small-lot premium wines in the gravity-flow Moshin Vineyards winery located on Sonoma County’s famed Westside Road. To this day, you can still find Rick tending vineyards, tasting barrels in the cellar, building furniture for the tasting room or repairing the plumbing.
Fermented whole-berry with native yeast in open top fermenters. Barrel aged in French oak. 25% new for 11 months. Unfiltered and unfined.
