Sourced exclusively from hillside vineyards in Friuli's Colli Orientali and neighboring Collio, the wine is made from 12- to 25-year-old Pinot Grigio vines farmed organically by a select group of local growers. The fruit is carefully sourced according to Giampaolo Venica's own standards with an emphasis on purity, freshness and an authentic expression of the region's terroir. The result is a far cry from generic mass-market Pinot Grigio, offering genuine character and precision while remaining wonderfully approachable.

Via Alpina is the vision of Giampaolo Venica, created as a companion project to his personal label, Dalia Maris. Dedicated to showcasing the coolest and freshest vineyard sites in Friuli, the project partners with growers who share his commitment to organic farming, sustainability, authenticity and terroir. Rather than chasing high acidity and low alcohol through excessively early harvesting, Venica believes in allowing each vintage to express its natural character. The name Via Alpina, meaning "The Alpine Way," references the road leading north from Friuli into the mountains and reflects the freshness and precision at the heart of these wines.
