Viticcio Bolgheri DOC 2022

A polished, versatile "Super Tuscan" that is a pleasure to drink. Its intense aromas recall coffee, cacao and sour cherry, with a rich background of wet earth. In the mouth, it is powerful and savory, a study in richness and concentration, from its ruby-purple hues to its heady aromas of coffee and cacao, its full body and velvety tannins that blend into a fresh finish of ripe fruit. Will age in the bottle for 8 years or more.

Viticcio has been making wines since 1964, among the rolling hills of Greve in Chianti, in the very heart of Chianti Classico.  The winery has grown to encompass 120 hectares of estate-owned land among the hills of Chianti Classico and Maremma. Viticcio stands tall by the efforts of its team. Young and invested, they are able to carry out a philosophy of sustainability and greater land stewardship that can express the beauty of Chianti Classico and Maremma through organic and biodynamic means. Head winemaker, Daniele Innocenti, was born in 1977, in Greve just across the vineyards he tends to now. He began his time at Viticcio in 2005. Certified organic, practicing biodynamic.
