Domaine de La Patience "From the Tank" Vin de France Rouge

“From the Tank” is a blend of organically grown Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Mourvedre with elegant aromas of sweet herb, violet, smoky red fruit and a touch of baking chocolate. The palate shows ripe cherry and minerality that is followed by supple acidity and velvety tannins. This bagged, boxed wine is the result of a collaboration between NYC-based natural wine importer Jenny & François Selections and Les Vignerons D’ Estézargues.

This bag-in-box wine was Jenny Lefcourt's passion project, inspired by the old-school French tradition of going to the local winery with a big empty jug to fill up with easy-drinking table wine (The woman on the bike is none other than Jenny herself). “I was living in France and experienced the centuries-old tradition of going to the local winery with a big jug to fill up with wine for all to enjoy. The light and easy-to-transport packaging makes the wine perfect for any outdoor activity, from picnics to poolside parties, and the bag-in-box packaging is the most carbon-efficient wine package available, producing the least waste: 55% lower carbon footprint in manufacture and transport and 85% less landfill waste compared to traditional glass bottles.

The wines are made by Domaine de La Patience, a thriving Mediterranean estate that Jenny has been working with since the very beginning of Jenny & François. The three-liter box is equivalent to four 750ml bottles of wine, and once opened, the wine keeps up to one month in the fridge – perfect for that indulgent little glass of wine that’s well deserved after a long day.

The certified organic grapes were de-stemmed and crushed, and the fruit underwent fifteen days of maceration to extract enough body and flavors from the skins. Fermented with native yeast in concrete tanks where the wine is then stored. Bagged and boxed on-demand to ensure maximum freshness, with light filtration and no fining.
