On the nose, ripe red fruits, hints of withered wild flowers and aromatic herbs lead to a palate of intense raspberry and red fruit. Convivial and dynamic, fresh, savoury and slender.

"Vigna Vecchia" means "old vineyard," and this rosé Lambrusco is made from one -- about 70 years old and on the verge of abandonment, when Marchesi Di Ravarino took over in January 2023. The training system is the traditional "Bellussera," a bastion of Emilian viticulture. The vineyard is characterized by being composed of five different varieties of Lambrusco grapes, all of which are hand-picked on the same day, giving rise to an authentic blend, as tradition dictates.

The grapes are vinified using the ancestral method, a traditional winemaking technique that involves secondary fermentation in the bottle. The wine, aged on its lees, produces a sediment that ensures the winemaking process is natural, ensuring that your last glass will become your favorite.

The history of the Marchesi di Ravarino winery is intertwined with the historic "Castel Crescente" estate, also known as "I Monti," located in the ancient bed of the Panaro River. This 16-hectare estate, divided into Roman "centuries," preserves traces of a Roman camp visible in the four hillocks at the corners.

Documents dating back to 1200 testify to the existence of the estate even before the founding of Ravarino. In the past, it belonged to local noble families, and the Duke of Modena retained ownership, recognizing the unique value of the land, characterized by deep geological strata. Subsequently, the surrounding lands were granted to the Rangoni family.

In 2010, Angelo Marchesi purchased the property, drawn by its uniqueness and rich history. Fascinated by the place's roots, he decided to plant a vineyard. His son Nicola, inspired by this legacy, embarked on a journey of viticulture and winemaking, continuing a family tradition.

Today, Marchesi di Ravarino stands out for producing high-quality wines using traditional and natural methods. The winery is deeply committed to organic farming and focuses on local varietals such as Lambrusco di Sorbara and Lambrusco Salamino, using traditional winemaking techniques such as the ancestral and classic methods.
