Nada Giuseppe Barbera D'Alba Superiore DOC 2022

Nada Giuseppe Barbera d'Alba Superiore is an artisanal, organically farmed red wine from Piedmont, Italy. It balances 100% Barbera fruit with rich tannins and bright acidity and mineral density. Ruby red in the glass with delicate tannins and notes of raspberry, dark cherry, plum, light tobacco and spice.

Certified organic farming, spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar. Traditional vinification in stainless steel with about 15 days of maceration and daily gentle pumpovers. Aged 12 months in 500L French oak tonneaux, half new and half older. Minimal SO2 addition, no fining and only a light filtration.

The family of Giuseppe Nada has been farming grapes in Barbaresco for generations. The domaine is in Treiso, the highest of the appellation’s communes, and the family tends just over 15 very steep acres of organic vines. Giuseppe’s dynamic son Enrico took over in 2008 and runs the estate with his sister and his nephew. The goal, across the range, is to create wines that embody balance, complexity and harmony. This Barbera comes from the estate’s Marcarini vineyard, northeast-facing on the main ridge leading into Treiso. Superiore designation is reserved for Barbera that is aged a minimum of four months in barrel.
