Flavors of energetic cherry, raspberry bush, blueberry compote, saddle and anise. Bright palate of chocolate cake and Luxardo cherries -- fresh and enveloping. Dubbed ‘The Pinot Noir of the Swartland,’ this 100% Cinsault is made from 36-year-old dry-farmed grapes grown in the South of the Swartland. Cinsault, once relegated to the sidelines, as the parent of Pinotage, has launched a comeback as the favored son of South Africa’s winelands. It is characteristically light in color & low in tannin. There is a certain gentleness to this wine. A crunchy character with dark cherries, raisins, strawberries and minty tannins.

Lubanzi is named for a wandering dog that followed the two wine-makers on a week-long backpacking expedition when they were exchange students in South Africa. Lubanzi stuck with the two for six days & 100 miles. Lubanzi disappeared on the final night of their trip, as his job guiding Charlie and Walker to their destination was complete.

At the core of this wine project is a focus on giving back back to the families who live and work on South Africa's wine farms via the Pebbles Project in the form of health and education support. It is also 100% carbon neutral and certified Fair-Trade.
