Château Couronneau Bordeaux Supérieur Red 2021

This fine 100% Merlot Bordeaux Supérieur is a glowing example of what can be achieved with dedication, focus and biodynamics, a hallmark expression of Merlot. Medium bodied with great length, creamy texture and full of blackberry, candied fruit, clove, licorice, prune, subtle vanilla, with a floral finish. Easy, relaxed and creamy in texture. 

At 185 meters above sea level the vinyard is located on the highest point of the Gironde. The clay-limestone soils are rich in iron, the grapes come from strictly controlled yields, and the wine is aged in large, old oak barrels.

Bordeaux Supérieur wines are generally considered to be higher quality and more expensive than regular Bordeaux AOC wines. They must contain at least 10% alcohol by nature, and most are estate-bottled. 

Originally established way back in the 15th century, the imposing and impressive Château Couronneau comprises 38 hectares of vineyards, all certified for organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Demeter) wine production.
